Anything you would suggest for a first time Soju drinker? From what I understand it can be a vast difference between flavours

It is the #1 selling spirit in the world! I don’t think it’s really meant to be good or refined but to do it’s job. In the US it can be served at many restaurants with a beer/wine license provided it is under 25% alcohol .

Note on my post, it looks like a wiki post and I did check what I wrote but it was info acquired by watching lots of Youtube videos and one NPR podcast.

This one, as seen on the label. I think Jinro is the biggest soju producer but I’m not 100% sure on that.
It’s very neutral in taste, and this one is like a really mild vodka. Slight sweetness, but no strong alcohol smell and the taste is much milder. Stronger than a typical wine at 17.8% but obviously much less than straight liquor.
Jinro also makes one with a red cap that’s around 22-24% (I forget exactly) but has very noticeable citrus quality to it, but I don’t like the taste as much as the “Fresh” one here.
There’s another soju called which sort of sounds like Chum Churum which literally translates to “like the first time” and is also tasty. The first time I got drunk was with vodka and this certainly tastes much better than the first time.
Ohter than that, your guess is as good as mine. The one I pictured was one I drank alot in Korea around 4 years ago.

Memories of drinking kettles in Itaewon. Also going to a restaurant and end the night drinking the yellow label Jinro with a bunch of Russians.
